Amanda and Tom were married in early August, with a ceremony at the Islip United Methodist Church followed by a reception at Bellport Country Club.
I met Amanda and Tom on their locally-themed engagement session. Amanda was adamant about keeping the locations as close as possible to their home, because she loves her community and even made it a point to use mostly local vendors for their wedding (including me). These confident, playful people were so much fun to work with, and one of my favorite moments happened when they saw the swing set at Mother’s Beach—there was no way they were going to leave the beach without having some fun on those swings!
I was so pleased to finally get the chance to photograph at the church. It dates back to 1810, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. What’s more, the Bellport Country Club is one of my favorite places on Long Island—I love the people, the grounds, and the décor, not to mention the fact that the sunlight has a special quality to it this time of year. The way the light caught the intricate details of Amanda’s dress was nothing short of stunning!
Then, we were off to the reception, where it was clear the grandmas were having more fun than everyone else. Amanda’s dad is a musician, so they had a band to keep everyone dancing all night long, too! It was so fun to watch all of their friends and family really letting loose!
Amanda & Tom, I hope you’ll always stay in touch. Thank you so much for letting me be part of this amazing day! Married life is wonderful, and I wish you the best.
