East Wind Wedding | Lisa & Jason

Lisa and Jason were married on a beautiful summer day with a ceremony at the Infant Jesus Church in Port Jefferson and a reception at East Wind.

When I first met up with these two, I was particularly excited because they wanted their wedding to be filled not only with several different locations for photography but also plenty of dancing! I love to hear that my couples are excited about the photography at their wedding, and we started planning together for five stops with the bridal party: the getting ready location, the church, a vineyard, the beach, and the reception venue.

With such a focus on making sure that they were able to capture their wedding day properly, I have to say that my favorite moment of the day was when Lisa had to come and “scold” the guys when they weren’t cooperating for pictures. The guys were having fun just throwing around a football until Lisa stepped in and told them, in no uncertain terms, to “get it together.” But of course, since Lisa is so sweet, her attempt to get tough on everyone just made the whole group laugh. I snapped a photo with her in focus and the guys blurred out in the background at that moment, and it’s my favorite image of the night because of the story behind it.

By the time we got to the reception, it was clear that nothing could stop these two—they were a real force of positivity, and it was obvious from the way they kept smiling that they were having the time of their lives. I was especially impressed by their amazing ability to block out an entire dance floor full of people while they snuck a kiss. By the end of the night, Lisa was still going strong on the dance floor, too!

Lisa & Jason, I loved getting to go to so many lovely locations with you. Thank you for letting me be part of the memories you made!

Love, John
