I strive to be a good listener, and I think that’s why I love weddings so much—they’re filled with subtle clues that tell me who you are, what’s important to you, and why you are madly in love. Each of these little clues is different because each couple is unique. While I work endlessly to master my craft with lighting and composition, it’s those little details that really make the difference, and with Lisa and David, there were so many to clues that revealed incredible moments.
Maybe it was the way Lisa’s mom decorated her childhood room for the prep photos, or the way David held Lisa’s hand all day, or the way her dad helped her out of the limo at the church as her little sister looked on. Whatever the case, it’s these moments that I hope my couples are able to look back on and say, “That’s so us.”
One of my favorite moments of the day came after we arrived at the country club. I asked Lisa and David if they would be interested in breaking away from the bridal party to get a few photos of just them down at Mother’s Beach. The photos that came from those moments are probably some of my favorites because of the obvious love between them.
Lisa, when you came into my office with your mom and you described how you wanted to get ready at your childhood home, I instantly knew you were the perfect bride for my style of photography. Thank you for seeing the same thing in me!
