A special View at Oakdale Wedding has the best grand entrance ever! During cocktail hour, the guests were led to the river’s edge as a SEAPLANE flew overhead. It circled twice, landed in the river and out jumped Marie and Tony. That has to go down as the best grand entrance ever. This is an experience I will never forget and I feel so blessed to have been chosen as their wedding photographer.
The back story is Marie and Tony both worked at MacArthur Airport on Long Island and love the water. They chose The View as their reception venue and they both had the idea of landing on the river in a seaplane for the introductions. Planning a wedding is difficult and time consuming, and trying to fit in the logistics of the seaplane seemed impossible. Marie and Tony never gave up on the Seaplane idea even though they moved on to normal wedding planning. Lucky for them, Marie’s father surprised them with their dream! They hired Fly the Whale out of Bridgeport, CT for their sea chartered flight.
The weather was so perfect and the photos on the tarmac are some of my favorite. Even those photos of Marie and Tony waiting for the plane to land were filled with joy and fun. Being able to walk around the plane, get in the plane, run on the tarmac and then to fly over the Great South Bay, was amazing. I’m sure Marie and Tony will always remember that flight.
For those getting married on Long Island and specifically looking at The View at Oakdale for their wedding, consider a seaplane entrance. You’ll have a memory of a lifetime!
