Meghan and Rich were married on August 12th, with a ceremony and reception at the Barn at Bethpage Restoration Village.
The Barn is simply a stunning location for a wedding. It’s old, rustic, spacious—and fitted with air conditioning! I grew up in Michigan so I’m somewhat of an expert on barns. This barn is different from any other and I can see why Meghan and Rich fell in love with it. I was having the time of my life photographing this event. Between the majestic barn and Meg and Rich’s loving family, my wonderful childhood in Michigan came rushing back to me and made this wedding so special.
Throughout the day, the whole wedding was filled with so many details that really showed how much their family cares for them—and how much they love their friends and family in return. Meghan’s mom hand-made the ties for the groomsmen, and Meghan painted custom watercolor thank you cards for each of her bridesmaids. Meghan had just given her bridesmaids a color range, and they all picked out unique dresses, while Rich’s nephews just followed him all night—they really looked up to him.
Meghan and Rich said that they wanted their wedding to be a “floor-slapping” dance party, and it was—non-stop. Meghan’s dance with her father wasn’t a slow song but instead had them moving all over the dance floor, having a blast. And at the end of the night, Meghan and Rich did the Dirty Dancing move where Baby jumps into Johnny’s arms. It was the perfect way to end the night.
I have to add a note that Dream Event Planning catered the wedding and made sure the day ran perfectly. The food was amazing. I really enjoyed working with their team.
Meghan & Rich, thank you for hiring me. You had everyone dancing all night long, and your wedding was a blast! Take care—and let’s please stay in touch!
