Boulder Pointe Wedding in Oxford, MI : Emma + Mike

We were so happy to hear that Emma and Mike were engaged! It was such a pleasure to photograph our good friends on their wedding day since we have been friends with Emma for a few years and have really enjoyed spending time with her & her big family.

The wedding ceremony was so beautiful and very emotional, held at the beautiful Assumption Grotto Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. Emma and Mike are such a lovely couple and the love and support of everyone who celebrated the day with them left a lasting impression on us. The reception was later held at Boulder Pointe Golf Club in Oxford, Michigan— We love shooting at this venue. The staff is wonderful and the facility is very elegant, and the ceiling is very tall which makes the room feel very spacious and elegant.

When we arrived at Boulder Pointe, each couple in the wedding party was led by the staff in golf carts onto the golf course for wedding photos. There are a few “standard” locations where the staff takes the wedding party for photos, but we wanted to take the wedding party to a few really pretty areas of the course that we were familiar with having golfed at Boulder Pointe in the past. We were also excited to see Emma’s cake, because besides being one of the nicest people that we know, she is very talented! The Woodlands at Woodbury Wedding | Kristen + Michael

What happens when an Upper East Side NYC guy meets a Long Island East End girl? Well they get married of course! It seems like every blog post I write has a comment about “how the couple was really nice” (and they are), but Kristen and Michael take that up a notch. I’m not sure how or why but when you meet this soft spoken, smart and very nice looking couple — you instantly wish the best for them. They had their wedding at the Woodlands at Woodbury and the ceremony was held at St. Joseph Church of Babylon. We caught some quick photos as the sunset on Argyle Park and we’ll… that’s a wrap.

The Royalton Mansion Wedding | Anne + Josh

I MISSED YOU - Those were the first words from Anne to Josh on their wedding day. They had an amazing wedding at the Royalton Mansion in Roslyn and I was lucky enough to be their wedding photographer. One thing I love about my life is spending the day with a wedding couple and picking up on those subtle moments that define a couple. As Anne walked up to Josh and tapped him on the shoulder for the reveal, she said “I Missed You”. They both missed each other so much and they we so happy to see each other. Their happiness carried the day! Capturing their wedding day moments stated with photography at the Royalton Mansion and then we headed over to the Planting Fields Arboretum for some really fun wedding photos.

My most favorite shot is the staircase photo and we were trying to get it all day long, but I go with the flow and the flow didn’t seem to want us to get that shot. Thankfully we caught a few minutes to get some really cool photographs at the Royalton Mansion. That place is so beautiful!

Westbury Manor Wedding | Catherine and Paul

Westbury Manor in early fall is an absolute beautiful time of year for wedding photos. This couple had such a great time and they really treated their guests to an amazing ceremony and reception. My favorite moment is when Paul picked up a peacock feather and gave it to Catherine. You’ll see that photo as well as so many other candid photographs that really told the story of their wedding day. Their friends loved hanging out on the old brick porch and enjoying many laughs and a few cigars! Wedding on the Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters

Have you ever been to a wedding reception on a boat? The Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters offers weddings and receptions on one of two beautiful yachts. The Infinity Yacht is a bit smaller yet still holds around 150 people, and The Ovation Yacht holds up to 300 guests. Both boats are very nicely equipped with all the amenities you could want for your wedding on the water. The food is outstanding as well!

Lauren and Greg’s wedding day started quietly at the bride’s family home. After getting ready and hanging out with her bridesmaids, we headed to Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church in downtown Detroit. The church was absolutely beautiful as you can see in the photos! Following the ceremony, we shot some photos around the church grounds then moved on to the Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters docks which happen to be at the Jefferson Beach Marina in St Clair Shores. You can’t believe your eyes when you see just how large these boats are as you pull up. We shot wedding portraits around the docks for a little while the guests arrived and boarded the boat. That’s when the fun began! The yacht leaves the docks and heads toward downtown Detroit. It’s pretty fun to see Detroit from the river!

One thing to note: If you’re thinking about having your reception on the Infinity and Ovation, please remember that you may bring your own photographer with you.

Royal Park Hotel Weddings | Kat + Mike

If you’re still looking for a wedding reception venue, The Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan, is an outstanding choice. For Kat and Mike, the choice was an easy one. They were looking for a venue with traditional architecture to compliment all of their classy wedding details. The bride wore a Monique Lhuillier wedding dress and an outstanding pair of Jimmy Choo wedding shoes so you already know how classy this bride was bound to look. The entire day was packed with detail from beginning to end.

The girls started their day at Salon U in downtown Lake Orion which was a blast. We then moved to a suite at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester where her dress was waiting for her on a form. The ceremony was in the chapel at St Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church in Bloomfield Hills. After the ceremony, we took a few photos around the St Hugo of the Hills grounds then moved on to Gus O’Connors for a quick drink before the reception. The reception at the Royal Park Hotel was fantastic. The building itself always looks beautiful, but it looked especially nice on this day with Kat and Mike’s details which you can see in the photos. The food is outstanding and the staff is accommodating. With all of this said, this is why we love shooting Royal Park Hotel Weddings!!! Wow – What a fun day. These two can really turn up the fun. You know that you are onto something special when one of the groomsmen is made into a wheel barrow to make his entrance! The reception and ceremony photographs were taken at the Smithtown Landing Country Club and the reveal was at “one of my favorite places” the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Check out this good time.
