Please join us for a special event at our studio in Lake Orion. We are hosting an artist’s gallery, entitled Laura Locke – Mixed Messages, which will run from February 9-29, 2012. Laura Locke is an emerging mixed media artist whose passion lies with re-creating vintage photographs of the early 20th century. She uses a very unique blend of fabric and paint as well as other media to create her masterful pieces of art.
Laura Locke was a finalist in Cloth Paper Scissors 2011 Artisan of the Year Search in the category of Mixed Media Art. This national publication chose Laura from hundreds of entries. Her piece, Quirky Ballerina, was featured in the January/February issue of the magazine. Laura’s ballerina piece, entitled Dispirited, was exhibited at the Michigan Fine Arts Competition in the spring of 2011. She was also a finalist with her piece, entitled Disparity, in Infinity Art Gallery’s online exhibit in October/2011. Laura’s work, Idol Love, won a Merit Award at the Portraits & Pottery exhibit in the fall of 2011.
